FIELD: animal breeding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to poultry breeding, in particular to breeding of poultry. Eggs are sampled by the weight and the average weight of yolk, without breaking the wholeness of eggshell. Selection of eggs is performed at the age of 30 weeks of hen’s life with an egg’s weight of 62–68 g and yolk’s weight of not more than 20 g. Weight of the yolk is determined by the formula y = -0.93 + 0.33*x, where y is the yolk’s weight, g; x is the weight of the egg, g.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of selecting young stock of meaty hens.
