FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for purifying hydrocarbon mixtures in which from a contaminated hydrocarbon mixture, containing olefins with three to eight carbon atoms, at least partially remove the sulfur-containing contaminants by bringing it into contact with the solid sorbent. In this case, during contact with the sorbent, the hydrocarbon mixture is exclusively in the liquid state, and where the sorbent has the following composition, which in total gives 100 % by weight: copper oxide from 10 % by weight to 60 % by weight (in terms of CuO); zinc oxide from 10 % by weight to 60 % by weight (in terms of ZnO); aluminium oxide from 10 % by weight to 30 % by weight (in terms of Al2O3); other substances from 0 % by weight to 5 % by weight. Process is also characterized by the fact that the contaminated hydrocarbon mixture is brought into contact with the solid sorbent in the presence of hydrogen and in that the contaminated hydrocarbon mixture contains 1-butene, and also, that less than 5 % of the 1-butene contained in the contaminated hydrocarbon mixture undergoes conversion by contact with the sorbent.

EFFECT: present invention allows to remove sulfur compounds from the mixture without loss of valuable products.
