FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tests in electric power industry. Method consists in setting the resonant frequency of the supply frequency converter (FC) equal to the frequency of the circuit formed by the controlled shunt reactor (CSR) and the capacitor and the nominal industrial frequency and selection of the voltage value providing the required value of the load current of the CSR. Herewith the resonance regime at the industrial frequency is approached by stages, setting the resonant mode at the minimum FC voltage by setting the frequency equal to the resonance at this voltage and exceeding the industrial frequency. Then the FC voltage is increased, the frequency is adjusted to the next resonance. And then by step to reach the nominal mode.
EFFECT: reduction of energy losses, simplification.
