FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method of diagnostics of supercharged internal combustion engine equipped with a fixed-geometry turbo-compressor, comprising a compressor through which air passes into the engine inlet system, and a turbine which is coupled in rotation with the compressor via a common shaft and through which the engine exhaust gases pass into the engine exhaust system. The engine is connected to a throttle valve for changing the passage area of the air entering the intake system of the engine; and with a waste-gate discharge valve installed in parallel with the turbine in the engine exhaust system for changing amount of exhaust gases passing through the turbine. Comprises: step of computing the first time integral of the measurement of the atmospheric pressure during the calculation time; a step of calculating the time integral of the supercharged pressure measurement during said calculation time; step of calculation of second time integral of measurement of atmospheric pressure during specified time of calculation; step of calculating two diagnostic criteria; step of comparing the first diagnostic criterion to first diagnostic threshold and comparing the second diagnostic criterion to second diagnostic threshold; and malfunction diagnosis step when at least one of two diagnostic criteria is less than its corresponding diagnostic threshold.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of engine diagnostics.
