FIELD: gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling supply of gases into a vehicle internal combustion engine, in particular, to diagnosis of supplied air leaks. Disclosed is a diagnostic technique for air supply to an engine, comprising a turbo compressor and a circuit (3, 4) for low-pressure and/high pressure partial exhaust gas recirculation. Method comprises steps of: determining set of values, describing engine operation, estimating degree of concentration in exhaust, measuring degree of concentration in exhaust by means of concentration sensor (31), located in exhaust pipe (7) of engine, determining diagnostic criterion taking into account relationship between measurement of degree of concentration in exhaust and estimate of degree of concentration in exhaust, comparing diagnostic criterion with at least one diagnostic threshold, which incorporates system spread and diagnostic signal depending on comparison result.
EFFECT: providing reliable monitoring of leaks at inlet.
