SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines. Thermal ICE comprises at least one combustion chamber for inlet gases including the mix of combustible, e.g. gasoline, and oxidiser, e.g. air, communicated with gas intake circuit (A) and exhaust gas discharge circuit (B), exhaust gas circulation circuit (C, D) communicating exhaust circuit with intake circuit, and exhaust gas circulation adjustment system. The latter can circulate exhaust gas for at least one working point defined by engine mode and torque developed by the engine whereat output torque is 50% larger than the engine maximum torque. Since engine operation is related with such parameters as compression ratio and exhaust gas circulation factor, adjustment system is configured to make circulation factor at said working point expressed in terms of mass fractions equal to thrice as high the engine compression ratio decreased by 13, tolerance making 2. Invention covers versions of thermal engine design, engine exhaust gas circulation control system, method for definition of engine exhaust gas circulation circuit dimension, method for definition of engine exhaust gas circulation law and vehicle with said thermal engine.
EFFECT: ruled out detonation at whatever operating conditions.
