FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, specifically to a method of preparing samples for electrothermal atomic-absorption determination of the content of toxic elements in nuts and seeds, and oil-plant beans. Fractional mineralisation (FM) of a test sample is carried out followed by atomic-absorption analysis. Method comprises preliminary decomposition of the sample using neutral ethyl ether into fatty and defatted fractions. Said fractions are independently mineralised. Defatted fraction – by dry ashing at a maximum temperature of 400 °C for two complete cycles and determination of metals by the AAS-ETA method. Fatty fraction – by dissolving n-hexane-isopropanol in a bipolar solvent in a ratio of 1:6:2 by the weight of the oil, directly introducing an electrothermal atomiser into the analytical cell of the graphite tube furnace, where mineralisation and simultaneous atomisation take place.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of determining content of toxic elements in vegetable raw materials with high oil content.
