The base (18) comprises a binding device (28) for mechanically coupling to the carriage body (26; 27) of the vehicle (12). The power supply unit (40) is designed for supplying the traction motors (30.1, 30.2) with electric power and comprises an inverter unit (42.1, 42.2). The power supply unit (40) is located partially in the area (52) of the running gear (10). The crew part of the vehicle comprises a mounting unit (48; 78; 84) for mounting the power supply unit (40). A rail vehicle with a carriage body and a crew part is claimed as well.
