TRANSMISSION TECHNIQUE OF AN IMAGE BY COMMUNICATION LINE Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC H04N19/66

Abstract RU 2646362 C1

FIELD: image processing means.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the image transmission, provided that data transmission channels are constrained by the speed and magnitude of the bit error. In the transmission method of an image via communication channel on a transmitting side before compression, the original image, represented in the BMP format, is divided into different parts by volume in proportion. Then, each part is separately compressed by a fractal method, resulting in parts of the compressed image data, presented in the FIC format. Recursive stitching of smaller parts into large ones (by the "matryoshka" principle) is made and data of the compressed image is sent with stitching via the communication channel. On the receiving side, the extraction of smaller (enclosed) parts from large is made in the reverse order and each part of the image is reconstructed with a fractal method, respectively, from each part of the data. Reconstructed parts of the image, presented in BMP format, are connected and got the full image.

EFFECT: technical result is an improvement in the quality ratio (id est, the peak signal to noise ratio PSNR) and the compression ratio of the fractal compression method (increase in the compression ratio K while maintaining the PSNR quality).
