FIELD: radio engineering and communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication networks. For this purpose the following is provided: receiving a subframe in a wireless communication device, herewith the subframe comprising a time dimension and a frequency dimension and the frequency dimension has subcarriers with a center frequency, the subframe comprises a plurality of time-frequency resource blocks, the first subset of the resource blocks is selected for transmitting reference positioning symbols, and the second subset of the resource blocks is selected not for transmitting the reference positioning signal, the first subset of the resource blocks is located closest to the center frequency, and the second subset of the resource blocks is located farther from the center frequency than the first set of the resource blocks, the subframe comprises a plurality of positioning reference symbols multiplexed into the first subset of the resource blocks; the wireless communication device demultiplexes the positioning reference symbols been multiplexed on the first subset of the resource blocks.

EFFECT: technical result is eliminating orthogonality losses in the subcarriers transmissions.
