FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used in diagnosis of 5T4-positive cancer. Methods according to invention include testing a mammalian blood sample, where the blood sample contains the population of cells, fixing the blood sample on the substrate, detecting in the blood sample the presence or absence of nucleated cells using the first marker, detecting the presence or absence of expression on the second marker cell in the blood sample, detecting in the blood sample the presence or absence of expression on the third marker cell, detecting in the blood sample the presence or absence of expression on the cell of the fourth marker, where the fourth marker is the human antigen 5T4 and analysis of the first, second, third and fourth markers in the cell population for recognition and characterization of circulating tumor cells.

EFFECT: use of inventions allows to identify the 5T4 antigen on circulating tumor cells, carry out morphological classification of their molecular characteristics for screening, monitoring and management of patients with cancer.
