FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an oral composition and methods for application thereof. Disclosed oral composition comprises a solvent comprising water and a cosolvent chosen from C2-C5 alkyl alcohols; a basic copolymer comprising basic acrylate monomeric units, basic methacrylate monomeric units, or a combination thereof; and not less than 0.5 wt% of an acid buffering or neutralizing agent; wherein the oral composition comprises from 6 to 15 wt% of water, from 30 to 60 wt% of the cosolvent and from 25 to 55 wt% of the basic copolymer; where the wt% of each component is based on the total weight of the composition. Basic copolymer is dissolved in the oral composition. Also disclosed is a method for sealing open dentin tubules, comprising a step of forming a coating on the open dentin tubules using said composition.
EFFECT: oral composition is capable of forming a film on the surface upon contact with an aqueous solution, which provides a barrier to protect the dental tissues.
