SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of compositions for the oral cavity. Proposed oral composition comprises: solvent containing water and a co-solvent selected from C₂-C₅ alcohols and their combinations; acidic copolymer comprising acidic acrylate monomer units, acidic methacrylate monomer units, or a combination thereof; and a neutral copolymer containing neutral acrylate monomer units, neutral methacrylate monomer units, or a combination thereof. In this case, the oral composition comprises from 6 to 18 % by weight of water, from 30 to 60 % by weight of the cosolvent, from 15 to 50 % by weight of the sum of acidic and neutral acrylate and/or methacrylate copolymers, and the weight % of each component is based on the total weight of the composition; wherein the acidic and neutral acrylate and/or methacrylate copolymers are dissolved in the oral composition. Use of the composition in the oral cavity can provide coatings which seal the open dentin canal and / or enamel fissures to minimize the sensitivity of the teeth due to the ability to form a film on the tooth surface upon contact with an aqueous solution.

EFFECT: in the case of using active agents, in particular fluorides, in the composition, their sustained release on the surface of the teeth is provided.
