FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for measuring the volume of bulk materials in open warehouses using airborne optical scanning with the use of remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS). Method of measuring the volumes of bulk materials in open warehouses using aerial optical scanning from unmanned aerial systems contains stages, on which high-precision geodetic measurements of the characteristic points of the boundaries of bulk materials and identification marks (control points) are obtained. Then, optical scanning data are obtained from the RPAS in the form of aerial photographs of bulk materials, the results of geodetic measurements from the base station (BS) during the aerial survey are received. Further, the results of the geodetic measurements from the on-board GNSS receiver are obtained for the aerial survey period, the results of the cooperative processing of measurements obtained from the base station and from the on-board GNSS receiver are received, with the obtaining of photographic centers as a result. Photogrammetric processing of optical scanning data is performed, the data accuracy is checked by comparing the coordinates of the identification marks, defined on aerial photographs with the coordinates of the identification marks, defined by the above mentioned high-precision geodetic measurements, if the difference in the location of the identification marks is within the acceptable values, then, based on the optical scanning data and the results of the geodetic measurements received from the BS, a dense cloud of points is constructed in an automated mode with known coordinates X, Y, Z, as well as high-precision orthophotomap of bulk materials, maps of heights and 3D models. On the basis of a high-precision orthophotomap and 3d model, the volume of bulk materials is determined by the method of transient (incomplete) squares from the reference triangulation surface or a given horizontal section.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to increase the accuracy and speed of determining bulk material volumes in open warehouses.
