FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to electric locomotives and motor rail cars. Electric train comprises head and trailer rail cars with 3-20 DC or AC traction motors of up to 500-1,800kW, which are supplied by the catenary system. Each traction AC electric motor is connected with the AC circuit via the current collector, with 1-50 blocks of capacitors, transistors, with excitation winding, with the solenoid and with batteries. Each traction AC electric motor is connected with the AC circuit via the current collector, connected with the electric transformer, with 1-50 blocks of capacitors, transistor converters, with the independent voltage inverter (IVI), with the IVI control system and with the independent voltage rectifier (IVR) control system. Control system of the IVI in the driving mode operates in the inverter mode, and in the braking mode, the IVI passes to the rectifier mode. IVR in traction mode operates in rectifier mode while in braking mode IVR switches to inverter mode. Each stator winding of asynchronous electric motor is connected with separate 1-20 high-capacity capacitors banks.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of energy saving and environmental friendliness of the vehicle.
