FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: electric train contains the head and trailer cars with 3-20 traction electric motors of direct or alternating current with power up to 500-1800 kW, supplied from the contact network. Each DC motor is connected to an alternating current network through a current collector, connected to a transformer, transistors, with an excitation winding, with a solenoid, and with batteries. Each AC traction motor is connected to an alternating current network through a current collector, connected to a transformer, transistor converters, an autonomous voltage inverter (AVI), an AVI control system, and an autonomous voltage rectifier (AVR) control system. AVI control system in the motor mode runs as the inverter, while in the braking mode it changes over to the rectifier mode. AVR in the motor mode runs as the rectifier, while in the braking mode it changes over to the inverter mode. Stator windings of every asynchronous motor are connected with separate 1-20 units of high-capacity capacitors.

EFFECT: increase of energy saving and ecological compatibility of the vehicle.
