Method for determining the presence of meconium and/or feces in traces on physical evidence, including the collection of a biomaterial with suspected presence of meconium and/or feces, its preparation for the study and the determination of the presence of meconium and/or stool with the help of instrumental research methods is distinguished by the fact that the biomaterial with the alleged presence of meconium and/or feces is applied to a gauze swab, dried at room temperature without access to sunlight, then placed in physiological saline and extracted for 24 hours at a temperature of 4 °C, centrifuged at 1,500 rpm, after filtration, the spectrophotometer is examined in the wavelength range from 300 to 700 nm in steps of 1 nm and when recording the absorption maxima at 330.0±1.0 and 398.0±5.0 nM establish the presence of meconium, at 498.1±5.3 nM set the presence of feces.

EFFECT: invention can be used to establish presence of meconium and/or feces in traces on physical evidence during forensic examinations.
