FIELD: radio engineering and communication.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to wireless communication systems and is intended for reconfiguration one or more MAC instances while the WTRU operates using a connection mode with two or more MAC instances. While receiving RRC reconfiguration information that modifies one or more secondary MAC instances, the WTRU can transmit the reconfiguration completion message to the macro-eNB (MeNB) and can be synchronized with a small cell or a secondary eNB (SeNB), for example, in the case of being triggered by one or more of an RRC flag, a physical control channel command of the downlink (PDCCH) (MeNB/SeNB), MAC-activation information. WTRU can be synchronized with the SeNB for a particular RRC reconfiguration type (-s), but not for another RRC reconfiguration type (-s).
EFFECT: technical effect: the WTRU can establish a connection and perform mobility activation procedures with more than two radio access network (RAN) unites (for example, eNB), and the described embodiments can equally be applicable to these scenarios.
