FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the electrochemical processing of spent nuclear fuel (SNF) of fast neutron reactors. Method is characterized by the fact that molten electrolyte based on eutectic mixture of lithium chloride and potassium after selection of lanthanides and alkaline earth metals from it, transition metal chloride is added, which is used as cadmium dichloride, wherein the process is carried out at temperatures not higher than 350°C.
EFFECT: invention allows to reduce energy consumption.
