SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to the testing of hydraulic machines and is designed to measure the performance of submersible gas separators used in oil production. Method for testing gas separators on gas-liquid mixtures involves measuring the flow rates in the supply lines of liquid and gas at the inlet to the gas separator (1), forming the gas-liquid mixture, and separating it in the gas separator (1). Flow of the gas-liquid mixture is supplied directly into the base of the gas separator (1). Flow from the discharge holes (3) of the gas separator (1) is directed to an additional device (10) for the separation of liquid and gas. Separated in the additional device (10) liquid, is supplied into the gas separator under test (1), and the separated gas is into the atmosphere, wherein enabling the approximate pressure equalization at the inlet and outlet of the gas separator (1). Then, the liquid and gas separated in the additional device (10) flow rate is measured. Separation factor of the gas separator under test is calculated according to the flow measurement data.
EFFECT: group of inventions is aimed at increasing the accuracy of measuring the separation characteristics of the tested gas separator due to a more complete simulation of the well conditions, shortening the testing time.
