FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to tests of hydraulic machines and is designed to measure working characteristics of submersible gas separators used in production of oil. The method to test gas separators on gas-liquid mixtures includes measurement of flows of liquid and gas, generation of a gas-liquid mixture, supply of the flow into a unit of simulation of internal well conditions, separation with a tested gas separator, detection of flow rates of liquid and gas in a flow at the outlet from the unit of simulation of internal well conditions. The flow arriving to inlet holes of the gas separator, is separated from the flow leaving the exit holes, and the pressure on exit holes of the gas separator is maintained as equal to the pressure at its inlet holes minus the pressure of the column of the gas-liquid mixture in the gas separator.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing accuracy of measurement of a separation characteristic of a tested gas separator due to more complete simulation of well conditions.
