SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the molding process of large-sized, complex profile ceramics from aqueous slurries. Method of manufacturing a molding punch includes applying a plastic material to the metal frame, processing it to the required dimensions and profile, applying a surface layer based on epoxy resin, holding until it dries completely and hardens, processing to the required dimensions and profile. In this case, epoxy resin with a filler introduced therein is used as the plastic material in the form of a mixture of breakage of ceramics of 3–10 mm in size from 30 to 40 wt. %, finely divided ceramic powder up to 1 mm in size or sand in an amount of 30 to 40 wt. % and alcohol from 0.5 to 2 % by weight %.

EFFECT: increase in the service life and decrease in the production time of the molding punches.
