FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a process for the preparation of trishydroxymethyl phosphine from tetrakishydroxymethyl phosphonium salt and can be used in the chemical industry. Proposed method comprises continuously loading the reaction chamber with at least one tetrakishydroxymethyl phosphonium salt and at least one base under conditions suitable for interacting with each other to form a mixture of trishydroxymethyl phosphine and formaldehyde while continuously removing said formaldehyde.
EFFECT: new effective method of obtaining a valuable chemical is proposed.
