SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the vehicle seat retractable armrest when an undesired event (collision) is detected. Vehicle seat assembly comprises connected together seat base and backrest, an armrest pivotally connected to the seat backrest and / or base, as well as a pretensioning device. Pretensioning device includes a pretensioner and a cable connected to the armrest in such a way, that with the activation of pretensioner the armrest pivotally moves forward and downward into the retracted position in the seat base direction.
EFFECT: achieved is the increase in safety.
