Method of determining an agglutination reaction comprises a step of reacting a sample with a reagent in a well of a microplate, a step of centrifuging the microplate, wherein at the centrifugation step, the agglutinated sample material is separated from the non-agglutinated sample material by means of a separating material, a step of obtaining at least one image of the upper side of the microplate and at least one image of the underside of the microplate and a determining step, where the positive or negative status of the sample with respect to the agglutination reaction is determined by comparing the colour intensity and / or the gray level on the images of the upper side and underside of the microplate.
