SUBSTANCE: invention relates to propulsion units intended for the propulsion and maneuvering of marine vessel. Propulsion unit for the propulsion and maneuvering of marine vessel comprises a nozzle that has segmented inlet edge element located at the inlet and made of lightweight non-metallic segments, and front ring located between the main part of the nozzle and the segmented input edge element and providing a fastening point for the segments of the above element. In an alternative option of the propulsion unit, the nozzle has a segmented input edge element, which is located at the inlet and is made of light non-metallic segments and at least one segment of metal integrated with supports that are located in front of the propeller, extending from the periphery of the input edge element towards its center and attached to the hub by its other end.

EFFECT: simplicity of the process of assembling the propulsion unit design is achieved by reducing its weight.
