SUBSTANCE: invention relates to industrial and agricultural machines. Electromechanical transmission of a machine with an internal combustion engine contains a traction generator and electric motor, braking resistor and control system with a controller and power electronic switches. Power switch connects the braking resistor to the power buses. Brake resistor is located in the air flow of the engine fan. There is also a braking resistor control device. Components of the control system are powered by voltage on the power buses, which are isolated from the machine body. System is equipped with a balancing device to maintain equal voltages on the power buses. There is also a device for monitoring insulation resistance of power buses and a device for discharging capacitors. Power electronic switches are made in the form of two or more parallel modules based on bipolar transistors with an isolated gate and contain built-in temperature sensors. Power switches has evaporative cooling or installed on a liquid cooling plate.
