FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: process for production of polypropylene with high polydispersity is described. Process includes a pre-polymerization reactor (PR) and at least one polymerization reactor. Polymerization in the at least one polymerization reactor takes place in the presence of a Ziegler-Natta catalyst (ZN-C). Catalyst comprises a pro-catalyst (PC), a co-catalyst (Co) and an external donor (ED). Pro-catalyst includes a transition metal compound, a compound of a metal (M), wherein the metal is selected from one of groups 1 to 3 of the Periodic Table, an internal electron donor (ID). Molar ratio of co-catalyst (Co) to transition metal (TM) (Co/TM) is at most 130. Molar ratio of the external donor (ED) to the transition metal (TM) (ED/TM) is in the range of from more than 5 to less than 50. Ziegler-Natta catalyst (ZN-C) is present in the pre-polymerization reactor (PR) and propylene (C3) and optionally hydrogen (H2) to said pre-polymerization reactor (PR) in a H2/C3 feed ratio of 0.00 to 0.10 mol/kmol. Pre-polymerization reaction is carried out at an operating temperature of 40–80 °C.
EFFECT: inventive method makes it possible to obtain propylene with a wide molecular weight distribution.
