SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive engineering, and namely to the control of fuel cut-off during deceleration (DFSO). Method for performing fuel deceleration in deceleration (DFSO) in motor vehicle with transmission and a transmission is provided. According to the method, under normal engine braking performance, the DFSO is blocked below the higher gear, and under reduced engine braking performance, the DFSO is blocked below the lower gear.

EFFECT: technical result is fuel economy and brake wear reduction with DFSO, as well as an extended range of operating conditions.
