SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medical technology, namely to surgical cutting and stitching tools and cartridges with staples used therein, which are made with possibility to cut and staple the tissue with staples. Proposed is a compressible tissue thickness compensator for use in a stitching tool, wherein the compressible tissue thickness compensator is configured to at least partially grip with the fastening elements, comprising a substrate attached thereto. Substrate contains a plurality of capsules comprising the therapeutic agent. Cartridge with staples contains a cartridge body, staples, a compressible tissue thickness compensator and a substrate. Cartridge body contains a platform and formed in the platform staple sockets. Each staple is at least partially located in one of the staple sockets, wherein the staples are configured to be movable between the non-activated positions and the activated positions. Staples at least partially extend into the compressible tissue thickness compensator, wherein the staples are configured to at least partially capture the tissue thickness compensator as they move between the non-activated positions and the activated positions. Substrate is located between the tissue thickness compensator and the platform, wherein the substrate contains a plurality of capsules comprising the therapeutic agent.

EFFECT: use of a group of inventions will allow to compensate for the varying thickness of the tissue trapped inside each staple.
