FIELD: hydro acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of hydro-acoustics and can be used to assess the technical parameters of an underwater object (UO) at an acoustic range. Method consists in that a UO is guided along a rectilinear trajectory past the hydro-acoustic ordinary measurement instrument (OMI). It is irradiated with an acoustic wave at a fixed frequency. Doppler signal of the OMI, reflected from the UO, is received. Time-frequency distributions are determined and levels of reflection of a tone signal from the UO body are estimated.
EFFECT: technical result obtained from the implementation of the invention is the ability to estimate the level of reflection of a tonal acoustic signal from the body of a UO.
