FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of protecting metals from atmospheric corrosion by inhibitors and can be used to protect metal products from atmospheric corrosion. Method of protecting metal products from atmospheric corrosion involves the formation of corrosion inhibitor on the surface of an adsorbed film, while using a non-volatile inhibitor in the form of an oleic acid salt, and the adsorbed film is formed from the vapor phase of said inhibitor by holding the stripped and dried metal product in a sealed container with an inhibitor portion at a temperature of 80–200 °C for 1 hour from the vapor phase at elevated temperature.
EFFECT: layers thus formed have a long protective effect under harsh conditions.
