FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to collect carbon dioxide. Monolithic contactor 200 comprises monolithic body 202 with inlet 212, outlet 214 and a plurality of channels 206 having a density of at least 100 channels per square inch. Monolithic body 202 comprises an adsorbent zeolite material, for example zeolite 13X or zeolite 3A, and a binder comprising water-soluble colloidal silicon dioxide and a phosphate. Monolithic contactor is prepared from an adsorbent composition comprising a carrier, the said binder and the adsorbent material, which is then formed to produce the said monolithic body. Resulting monolithic body is dried and burnt. Monolithic contactor 200 is placed inside a contact chamber to adsorb carbon dioxide. Contact chamber is an integral part of the system for collecting carbon dioxide from the process gas, which also contains a desiccant chamber for removing water from the process gas, while obtaining, a substantially dry gas and a condenser for removing heat from the process gas. Desiccant comprises the second zeolite material assembled as the second monolithic body with the second plurality of channels.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the strength of the monolithic contactor, its reliability and durability without degrading the adsorption efficiency.
