FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in electronics, in production of telecommunication equipment and electric motors. Method for obtaining submicron powders of cobalt(II) ferrite includes the preparation of initial reaction aqueous solutions containing cobalt and iron salts. As cobalt and iron salts, cobalt(II) sulfate and iron(III) sulfate or iron(III) nitrate are taken. Precipitation agent used is strongly basic anionite gel AV-17-8 in hydroxide form. Mixture is precipitated under continuous stirring for 1 hour at a temperature of 60 °C. Precipitates are separated from the solution, washed with water, dried at a temperature of 80 °C and calcined at 950 °C for 1 hour.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to exclude the use of aggressive media and high pressures, as well as additional stages of purification and precursor washing in the preparation of pure single-phase cobalt(II) ferrite powder.
