FIELD: chemical industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of catalysts, anode materials in lithium-ion batteries, ferromagnetic fluids, medical drug delivery systems, gas-sensitive sensors, cores, transformers. A reaction solution is prepared from a mixture of nickel and iron (III) nitrates, taken in a molar ratio of 1:2. Then the reaction solution is stirred with a solution of sodium borohydride at a temperature of 90°C for 30 min in a water bath to obtain a precipitate in the form of nanoparticles, which is separated by magnetic separation and dried.

EFFECT: superparamagnetic nickel ferrite nanoparticles are a single-phase product and are obtained in a simple and convenient way without the calcination step.
