SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the sliding element of piston assembly of internal combustion engine, and also to the piston ring and the cylinder barrel containing the named sliding element. The sliding element contains, at least on one section, at least one layer a-S:n:Me, where Me - germanium and silicon, and the layer a-S:N, applied on the layer a-S:n:me as a covering layer. Total thickness of the named at least one layer a-S:n:Me amounts from 15 to 40 mcm.

EFFECT: implementing the sliding element, the piston ring or the cylinder barrel with the lowered friction coefficient during the long period of time, preferably within the whole service life of the internal combustion engine where this sliding element is used.
