FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and is intended for monitoring the service life of electrical insulation of dry power transformers. Signals from the temperature sensor of the most heated point of transformer 5, vibration amplitude sensor 6 and auxiliary contact 3 of circuit breaker 1 are fed to the inputs of controller 8. Controller 8 performs the following functions: detection of the ON state of transformer 4 with closed contacts 3, analog-to-digital conversion of the signal from temperature sensor 5 and from vibration amplitude sensor 6, calculation of the current value of the temperature difference according to the formula , counting of the number (n) of heating-cooling cycles with a temperature difference of more than , calculation of the total operating time (ON state) of the transformer and the residual life of the insulation of transformer windings according to the formula .DAta on the total operating time (t) and the residual life (T) for busbar 9 are transferred to computer 10 for registration and storage, and displayed on monitor 11.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of the control of the operating life of the transformer insulation.
