FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automated control and diagnostics of collector electric machines and provides for expansion of functional capabilities by organisation of continuous control of residual resource and detection of quality of a commutator and increased reliability of control. In process of operation of an electric machine (2) they continuously model operation of a commutator on the basis of measured current, angular speed and complete time of brushes operation from the moment of operation start and calculation of residual brush resource in accordance with the mathematical dependence. Simultaneously they control working length of brushes with the help of an inbuilt sensor (6). As the brush length reduces to the limit values, a control signal is produced. At the same time with the help of a controller (7) they fix a value of complete time of brush operation, when exhaustion of their operation resource took place.

EFFECT: technical result is increased reliability of control.
