FIELD: electrical communication engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of communication technology, more specifically to a method and system for converting OTN signals into a payload of an Ethernet frame. This method includes the following operations, in which: decompose the received OTN signals into ODU0/1/2/3/4/flex signals, with the use of segmentation and assembly module (SAR) package them into interlaken signals, allocate each signal from ODU0/1/2/3/4/flex its interlaken channel, as a payload, interlaken signals of each channel are packed into Ethernet frames, note the payload of each channel's interlaken with the appropriate Ethernet labels; through a switched Ethernet network Ethernet frames are transmitted to the receiving end, where the Ethernet labels restore the interlaken signals of the respective channels, and with the help of the SAR module, they restore the ODU0/1/2/3/4/flex signals, and splice them into OTN signals for subsequent transmission.

EFFECT: technical result consists in providing conversion of OTN signals into the payload of the Ethernet frame.
