FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method, device and distributed control system for submodules are declared. Submodules of each bridge arm of the converter valve are grouped. Each group corresponds to one controller based on the valve. Upper-level control device calculates the weight of each group in accordance with the bridge arm current, the average voltage of the normal submodules in each group, and the number of normal submodules in each group; calculates, in accordance with the number of submodules, which should be the input ones to the corresponding bridge, the number of submodules that are input to each group, and transfers this quantity to the controller, which is based on the gate. Valve-based controller operates in accordance with the voltage balancing technology and with the switching method that are included in state of the art.
EFFECT: improved quality of voltage balancing between the submodules.
