FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to paint and varnish superhydrophobic coating which is intended to protect against increased moisture, contamination, mold development and corrosion of various surfaces, for example, metal, plastic, stone and others. Coating is made of a composition that includes a polymer base, an organic solvent, a filler, a crosslinkable base, an organic plasticizer, and a component responsible for creating a particular surface structure. It contains as a polymer base copolymers of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate, as a filler non-toxic transition metal oxides, as a cross-linking base epoxy resin. As a component responsible for creating a special surface structure, it contains a hydrophobized aerosil. These components in the composition are contained in the following ratio (wt%): copolymers of vinyl chloride with vinyl acetate 6.5-8.0, epoxy resin 1.5-1.7, plasticizer 7-11, aerosil hydrophobized 6-10, non-toxic transition metal oxides - 29-40, organic solvent - the rest. Titanium oxide can be used as a transition metal oxide, and rosin can be used as an organic plasticizer.
EFFECT: invention provides superhydrophobicity with good adhesion to the surfaces to be protected.
