FIELD: agriculture; mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: twine tensioning system is provided for a baler and includes a housing, a twine bin, a tensioner, a slack arm, a knot tying and twine severing apparatus and a tucker finger. Adjacent portions of the upper and lower twine are tied and passed through the bale, which is pressed in a baler. Knots are formed to bind the twine at the front and rear ends of the bales. Slack arm maintains tension during the knotting process and cutting the twine.
EFFECT: stop bar is removably positioned for limiting the downward pivoting of slack arm when the bales are being passed through the system to minimize wear.
