FIELD: machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: plurality of levers of the cord tensioning mechanism are installed in evenly distributed positions along press chamber of a large-bale baler for vertical rotation between upper and lower extreme positions. Each lever of the tension mechanism carries tensioned cord thread connected to a double knot tying device. A rotating potentiometer of the lever determines the pivotal movement of each lever of the tension mechanism by means of a servo mechanism and sends a corresponding electric signal to electronic controller. In the electronic controller, the detected position of the lever is processed together with the other stored information, and the signal is sent to activate the display showing the relative positions of the levers, and/or to activate a warning device for notifying an operator that a tie failure has occurred, will occur or that it is necessary to change the adjustment of the cord tensioning mechanism.
EFFECT: extended functionalities of the cord tensioning methods.
