SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to equipment for packaging presses. The twine knotter system for tying a bale has a twine knotter and a knitting needle for leading twine bundles into the area of the twine knotter. The system additionally comprises a guiding roller configured to be adjusted relative to the twine knotter, used to redirect the twine coming from the bale in the direction of the twine knotter, and a repositioning apparatus for repositioning the guiding roller depending on the force imparted by the twine on the guiding roller. The baling apparatus with the twine knotter system has a pressing channel wherein the bale material is pressed into a bale in the direction of pressing by means of a pressing piston. The twine knotter is therein located on the side of the pressing channel. The guiding roller is located between the pressing channel and the knotter. The guiding roller is configured to be repositioned at least substantially parallel to the direction of pressing.

EFFECT: twine breakage is prevented.
