SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and relates to method for improving glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, in whom Type 2 diabetes is inadequately controlled by treatment with a single glitazone, comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a combination comprising (a) desPro³⁶Exendin-4(1-39)-Lys₆-NH₂ and/or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in daily dose of 10-20 mcg and (b) glitazone and/or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in daily dose of 10-20 mg.
