FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technologies that provide increased resistance of steel parts to mechanical effects and to effects of aggressive working media due to a change in a composition and structure of their surface layers, and can be used for increasing operational life of articles, increasing their loading, in particular for increasing durability of injection molds used for injection casting. Method comprises diffusion saturation of the steel part surface in the melt, containing lead, bismuth, lithium, nickel, chromium and cobalt, at a temperature of 650 to 1,250 °C. Used melt containing components at the following ratio, wt%: lead – 31.2 or 47.5 or from 32 to 47, bismuth – from 40 to 55, lithium – from 0.5 to 0.8, nickel – from 1 to 5, chromium – from 2 to 10, cobalt – from 1 to 3.
EFFECT: invention provides increased wear resistance and service life of steel articles under exposure of high contact stresses and aggressive effects of a working medium.
