FIELD: wear-resistant materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technologies that increase the resistance of products made of austenitic steels to mechanical influences and to the effects of aggressive working environments by changing the composition and structure of their surface layers. The method for forming a wear resistant coating on the surface of products made of austenitic steels includes two stages. At the first stage, diffusion saturation of the product surface is carried out in a melt containing plumbum, lithium, chromium and vanadium, with the following component ratio, wt. %: plumbum 93.4-98.0, lithium 0.5-0.8, chromium 1-5, vanadium 0.5-0.8, which is carried out at a temperature of 650-1250°С. At the second stage, nitriding is carried out at temperatures of 450-650°С for 2-48 hours.
EFFECT: increase in the wear resistance and operational life of products made of austenitic steels under the conditions of exposure to high contact stresses and aggressive exposure to the working environment.
