FIELD: biotechnology; medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to biotechnology and biochemistry. Composition, set and method for detecting presence of biofilm in viable tissues are proposed. Coloring composition preferably stains the biofilm and contains a gel-free liquid based on water or glycerin, from 0.1 to 2.0 % w/v. EDTA, 0.1 to 1.0 % w/v. benzalkonium chloride (BaCl) and from 0.0001 to 1 % w/v. of bengalrose. Kit for detecting biofilms includes said composition and a light source capable of causing fluorescence of the coloring agent. Method for detecting a biofilm in a wound comprises applying a color composition, examination of tissue for the presence of colored biofilm with the naked eye or with the use of a light source, detection of fluorescence emitted by colored biofilm.
EFFECT: invention provides accelerated detection of biofilms on viable tissues, while avoiding irritation of wound and skin by increasing capturing of bengalroz in biofilms.
