SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of ferrous metallurgy, namely to the composition of steels used for the manufacture of parts operating under friction and intensive wear. Steel contains, mass%: carbon 2.0–2.05; silicon 2.0–2.05; manganese 0.6–0.8; copper 0.2–0.3; nickel 0.5–0.9; chromium 0.1–0.15; boron 0.02–0.03; cobalt 1.5–2.3; samarium 2.3–2.7; rest being iron.
EFFECT: increased wear resistance of steel is provided.
