FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical-thermal treatment of the product surfaces, mainly from two-phase (α+β) titanium alloys, by means of thermodiffusion zinc coating in powder mixtures and can be used in engineering, machine building, shipbuilding, aircraft engineering, chemical and construction equipment, where parts, machine components and products, which are made of titanium alloys, operate in corrosive environments in contact with other metals and alloys. Powder mixture for thermodiffusion zinc coating of the products from titanium alloys includes the following components, wt%: inert filler 65–70, activating agent 10–12, zinc powder the rest. Activating agent is the mixture of the following components, wt%: calcium fluoride 15–17, barium fluoride 15–17, aluminum fluoride 30–35, titanium fluoride – the rest, and the fractionated marble chips are used as the inert filler. Method for thermodiffusion zinc coating of articles from titanium alloys involves treating the articles in the container with the mentioned saturating powder mixture at the temperature from 500 up to 600 °C for 100–120 minutes at the constant rotation of the container at the rate of 10–12 rpm, pressure dumping from the container up to normal one and cooling the products in the air. Formation of high-quality, corrosion-resistant diffusion zinc-containing coatings with the zinc content of 28–31 % and with the specific electrical resistance of 3.82–4.53 Ω⋅mm2/m is ensured.
EFFECT: reduction of thermodynamic activity of titanium alloys and electrochemical action onto the steels and alloys that contact with them, when operating in corrosive environments (for example, sea water).
